Swift Shift is a narrative commercial spec film created for Alpina Bank. The film tells the story of a man attempting a complete career change, moving from medicine to farming with little success. As his employer prepares to let him go, an unexpected discovery gives him the tools and support to reinvent himself.
A narrative exploration of professional reinvention and the role financial institutions can play in enabling new beginnings. Rather than showing products or services, the film builds its message around a character at a turning point, letting the audience feel the weight of starting over before the brand idea lands.
This is a spec project, created independently as a creative showcase rather than a commissioned campaign for Alpina Bank.
Swift Shift was written and directed by Samuel Laprand. As a spec film, the project was developed independently from concept and script through to direction, giving Samuel full creative control over the story and its execution.
Financial services rarely lend themselves to emotional storytelling, which is exactly why this project exists. Swift Shift shows how a bank’s role in someone’s life can be told through character and consequence, not through features and benefits.
